Secondhome, created in 2000, is owned (since 2014) and directed (since 2008) by Kristell Thornton, Managing Director.
Secondhome's team helps clients looking to purchase a second home or an investment in some of the most exciting destinations over the world. We provide a free service of research and advice and are able to provide contacts on all subjects relating to a purchase abroad (legal, tax, currency, mortgage etc...) so as to make your purchase as smooth as possible and knowing we are here to help you all the way through.
We work as "property consultants" in the true sense of the term. We hunt for properties to meet the needs of our clients, involving lots of research but having the gratification of working on recommendations.
We have a very strong global network of contacts, developers and agents all over the world that we use extensively to the benefit of our clients.
At Secondhome we pride ourselves on providing a 5* service to our clients and we have the feedback to prove it. Our customers recommend us for our knowledgeable and personalised service, and our network of contacts.
Secondhome Interiors was created in 2019 and provides furniture packs to clients looking to furnish or update their property in France. We select the furniture with the client, transport and install as part of one service. We also work alongside a renovation company.
Secondhome Rentals was created in 2020 and provides holiday rentals in France and Mauritius. Like with Secondhome Properties we work with renowned partners and there is no additional cost for our service to our client.

Secondhome takes the security and privacy of those of its contacts about which it holds personal information extremely seriously. It follows strict security procedures in the storage and disclosure of personal information given to us in order to prevent unauthorised access.
Personal Data is held on our contacts and administration database either because of work we have undertaken or are currently engaged in, or because our clients have indicated that they would be interested in receiving material from us about our business. To that end we hold client contact details and the history of our client relationship. This allows us to manage our client relationships effectively and target items of interest so that clients do not receive unwanted material.
In accordance with their rights under the Act, clients may request the amendment of the personal information held or to cease receiving direct marketing materials.
Secondhome does not sell, rent or deal in the personal information we hold. Information may, in the ordinary course of business, move to our contractors, which may involve the transfer of data outside the European Economic Area. This happens when we organise a visit with our partners in the country where the property is located. We will recommend mortgage brokers, currency brokers and notaires/legal advisors. If you wish to be put in touch with them, we will then introduce you.

For this reason, Secondhome does not assume any responsability for any statement, marketing material or respresentations that they relay. The contracts and deeds of sale signed at the notaire are the only valid legal basis for the purchase. For this reason, Secondhome always recommend clients to go through the contracts with a notaire or other legal representative and base their purchase on the content of these contracts. Secondhome also strongly recommend clients to visit properties or sites before purchasing and Secondhome will help in organising these visits.

For this reason, Secondhome Rentals does not assume any responsability for any statement, marketing material or respresentations that they relay. The contract signed with the rental agency is the only valid legal basis for the rental. For this reason, Secondhome Rentals always recommend clients to go through the contract rental agency and base their rental on the content of this contract.
